Choose a colour palette

Write a palette into your project and use it in your game art.

On this page

Steps

  1. Save a checkpoint if you want to keep the current palette.
  2. Open Assets and find the palette section.
  3. Choose Choose a palette or Change palette.
  4. Review the colours and attribution for a palette.
  5. Choose Use for the palette you want.
  6. Inspect src/palette.ts in Code mode.
  7. Update game drawing code to use the palette where needed.
  8. Run the game, check contrast and visibility, then save.

What happens next

The selection replaces the colours in src/palette.ts. It does not recolour existing image files or every shape already drawn by your code.

If the palette cannot be read

Keep PALETTE as a plain list of colour strings in the format the panel expects, or edit it directly in code. If the assistant is working, wait until it finishes before changing the palette. If another tab changed the project, follow the reload message first.
