Save your work and restore a checkpoint

Understand drafts, make deliberate saves and recover an earlier project version.

On this page

Save a checkpoint

  1. Choose Save in the project.
  2. Review the changed, added and deleted files.
  3. Optionally write a short note, such as “Restart button working”.
  4. Confirm Save and wait for the saved status.

The Studio keeps edits on your device when browser storage works and sends automatic drafts while you work. Not saved yet is not the same as a deliberate saved checkpoint. Save before changing devices or making a risky edit.

Restore an earlier version

  1. Save your current work first if you want to keep it.
  2. Open History.
  3. Find the checkpoint by its date, author and note. Use Show older if needed.
  4. Choose Restore.
  5. Read the warning about replacing unsaved changes, then confirm.
  6. Run the restored project and check the result.

Restoring creates a new checkpoint. Earlier saved history stays available. It changes the working project, not the live release.

Recover unsaved changes

If the Studio says it recovered changes, inspect them and choose Save to keep them in History. If another device also changed the project, read the warning: saving this copy makes it the newest version.

If saving fails

Keep the tab open and follow the storage, connection or daily-limit message. If the browser is not keeping changes, do not assume reloading will recover them.
