Import a game from a zip
Bring existing game files into a new Studio project and check what needs adapting.
What you need
A zip containing your HTML5 game’s source files. Expect to adapt games that use unsupported libraries or different platform APIs.
Steps
- In Projects, choose Import a zip.
- Select the zip and enter a project name.
- Choose Import and wait for checking.
- On completion, read What didn’t come in and Renamed.
- Choose Open the project.
- Open
llvls.json. If the import added a starter manifest, set its audience and check the main script inentry. - If the original game starts from
index.html, identify the game script that should be the entry. - Update references to renamed assets and load them using
llvls.assets.url(). - Choose Run, fix the reported problems and repeat until the preview works.
- Save a checkpoint after the imported game runs.
What changes during import
If all files are inside one folder, the import takes them out of that folder. Images become PNG and audio becomes WAV, which may change names. Fonts cannot come through this flow yet. The result lists omitted or refused files.
Importing does not automatically rewrite a game for the SDK.
If you leave during checking
Return to Projects to look for the finished project. Avoid immediately submitting another copy just because you left the status page.
Still stuck?
