Change controls, screen size and game settings

Use the settings form and test the corresponding game behaviour.

On this page

Steps

  1. Open the project and choose Project settings.
  2. In General, check the player-facing name, version label, descriptions and category.
  3. In Controls and screen, select supported inputs and orientation.
  4. Set the width-to-height Shape. For pixel art, set matching drawing dimensions.
  5. Choose Keep the shape or Fill the space it has according to whether your game can redraw at different sizes.
  6. Fix any fields marked with errors.
  7. Return to the editor, save and run the project.
  8. Test each input you declared and each intended screen shape. Use a real phone for touch.
  9. Publish a new release when the game is ready for players to receive these changes.

What happens next

The form edits llvls.json. It does not implement movement, resizing or gamepad logic by itself. Make sure game code handles what the settings declare.

The private project name and the public game name are different concepts. For an existing game’s public description and cover, use its Store page.

If the form cannot open

Use Open llvls.json or Open in the editor and repair the JSON. A malformed manifest prevents the form from displaying it reliably. Review any rating disagreement in Publish’s Rating step.

For save formats, leaderboards and events, continue with the dedicated guide.
