Switch the live game to an earlier release

Use a checked release again and review its save-format consequences.

On this page

Before you start

Choose the release deliberately and check whether its save format is compatible with the current one. Download or save your working project separately if needed.

Steps

  1. Open the game and choose Releases.
  2. Find the eligible version you want players to receive.
  3. Choose Roll back or Switch to this.
  4. Read which release will replace the current one.
  5. If a save-format warning appears, read it before confirming. Players with newer-format progress may start without that progress in the older version.
  6. Confirm the switch.
  7. Check the live-release status and open a fresh player page to verify the version.

What happens next

Players get the selected release on their next load. It has already been checked, so switching does not require a new review. The previous live release stays in history and can be switched back when eligible.

This action changes the live release, not the project in the editor. Use project History separately if you want to restore the working files.

If the release cannot be switched

The list may have changed since it loaded. Read the refreshed state or other restriction. Do not submit a duplicate release just to avoid a save-format confirmation.
