Set the rating and content notes

Declare what is in your game and confirm it before publishing.

On this page

Steps

  1. Open the project and choose Publish > Rating.
  2. Read the content-note groups and tick every item that applies to the game.
  3. Review the lowest audience rating allowed by those selections.
  4. Choose the appropriate audience from the available options.
  5. If a choice is unavailable or conflicts with a note, read the explanation and correct the game or selection.
  6. Choose Save rating.
  7. Return to Checklist and confirm that the rating is set for the current project.
  8. If llvls.json changes after confirmation, reopen Rating and check it again before submitting.

What happens next

The selection is saved to llvls.json. A published game’s Rating tab shows the live release’s rating; changing project files alone does not update it.

The selected rating must match the actual content. A higher rating does not make otherwise prohibited content acceptable.

If Mature is unavailable

Follow the account restriction shown. Do not assume that completing a basic verification form enables every Mature feature.

If the manifest cannot be read

Open llvls.json in Code and fix the JSON first. Then return to Rating and confirm the complete set of content notes.
