Share a private playtest link

Let testers play an eligible release and end access when testing is finished.

On this page

Before you start

Choose an eligible release in Releases. A playtest link is tied to that release, not the unsaved project or the newest preview.

Steps

  1. Open the game’s Releases.
  2. Choose Playtest link for the release you want tested.
  3. Choose Make a link.
  4. Use Copy link immediately. The full link is shown only once.
  5. Note the expiry date shown.
  6. Share the link with your intended testers and tell them what to try.
  1. Reopen the playtest dialog for the release.
  2. Find the link under Working links, using its creation and expiry dates.
  3. Choose End it.
  4. Check the confirmation that it no longer opens.

What happens next

Anyone with the link can play that release until the link expires or is ended. Testers play signed out with no ads, and their activity does not count as a play.

If you change the project, the existing link still targets its original release. Create the appropriate new release and link when testing an update.

If you cannot make one

Read whether the release is ineligible, links are switched off or the active-link limit is reached. End an unused link when appropriate. Use a preview phone link for testing a current unpublished build instead.

Still stuck?
