Run and check your game preview
Build current files, identify an older preview and test different frame sizes.
On this page
Steps
- Open your project.
- Choose Run, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac).
- Wait for building to finish. A waiting-for-builder message means the request is queued.
- Check that Preview reports the latest build.
- Play the changed behaviour.
- Use Restart the game to try the same build again.
- Where the frame controls are shown, try Desktop, Phone, sideways and Phone, upright.
- Read Problems and Console before saving or publishing.
Saving also triggers a preview build. Typing alone does not rebuild on every keystroke.
If Preview says last good build
The latest files failed to build, but the previous successful version is still playing. Read the build problems, fix them and Run again. A moving preview is not proof that the current files work.
If the preview cannot start
Follow the connection, missing-asset, unavailable-service or daily-limit message. A Mature build may not be playable on the current account. Use the displayed restriction instead of repeatedly rebuilding.
What happens next
Frame previews help inspect layout. They do not replace testing actual touch input on a phone. Preview gameplay is test activity, not a public release or a counted play.
The frame-rate, memory and bundle indicators describe the preview where those measurements are available. A missing measurement does not itself indicate a game error.
